The top 10 teams, based on September 2015 GEEX rankings have collaborated and arranged to participate in a 2 pool round robin competition, followed by playoffs.
 
The top 10 are as follows:  
1. Richter City Roller Derby All Stars
2. Pirate City Rollers
3. Dead End Derby
4. Swamp City Roller Derby
5. Whakatane Roller Derby League
6. Dunedin Derby
7. Auckland Roller Derby League
8. Bay City Rollers
9. Richter Roller City Roller Derby 
10. Sirens of Smash (withdrawn from competition)
 
Rules:
Each team competing must submit a team roster of up to 20 players, to Swamp City before the 30 December, 2015. Changes to rosters of 20 must be emailed at least 2 weeks prior to a NZRD Top 10 game. Changes will be emailed to all those in the competition immediately.  All pool games will be played adhering to standard bout contract that has been agreed upon by all competing teams.
 
Players cannot be on more then 1 roster.
Competition to be played under WFTDA ruleset. Results/signed stat books to be submitted to SCRD via email who will keep a points table and display this on our Facebook and this website. These will be updated as soon as possible after each game is played.
 
Teams must play all 4 of their pool play games between the months of January and September 2016. If a team cannot field a team for a game where the date has been agreed upon in writing (email suffices), it is up to the oppositions discretion as to whether they allow the game to be moved to a future date, or if they would like to take win by default.
 
Points system:
Win - 2 points
Draw - 1 point
Default win - 2 points, 75 point differential awarded
Default loss - 0 points
Loss - 0 points
In the case of a points tie, points differential will decide which team proceeds to semi finals.
 
Final:
The top 2 teams from each pool will proceed to semi finals which will be held in Wellington - date tbc. This will be knockout with consolation playoffs for 3rd and 4th:
 
Game 1 - 1st Pool A v 2nd Pool B 
Game 2 - 2nd Pool B v 1st Pool A 
Game 3 - Loser G1 v loser G2 (winner of G3 = 3rd place, loser = 4th place)
Game 4 FINAL - winner game 1 v winner game 2 (winner G4 = 1st place, loser = 2nd place) 
 
The 3rd and 4th place qualifiers from each pool may also proceed to a consolation semi finals competition (playing off for 5th - 8th position) to be held in Napier, prior to the finals (play offs for 1st-4th position) using the same competition format.

Prizes:
The Top 10 Champs prizes have be supplied by our sponsor, Derby Depot!
  • 1 x new full skate setup – valued at $1000!  This prize will be awarded to one very lucky MVP (name to be drawn from all those who were named MVP, during Top 10 POOL play games.  MVPs to be selected by opposition teams at the conclusion of each pool play game.  MVP names must besent to Swampcityrollerderby@gmail.com after each game.  
  • 1 x skate boots – valued at $750! TBC
